Scared child Inside I sit and think about who I used to be and realize that this person is still here inside. The poet exists inside me. The dreamer sleeps but awakes at times to dream her dreams. I want to awaken. I wanted to be freed from the compounds of my mind. To feel free from the trap that is my humanity. I wish I could be a free agent. I want to be the creative soul that I am. I want to be recognized for my true gifts. I don’t want to hide under this shell. I want to embrace the scared child that is hiding away from the world. I want to free her.
